Whilst it is the north of Italy that is famous for the production of
white wines, some fantastic styles are also made in the south, where the warm sunshine and long evenings ensure rich, ripe and full-bodied wines that are extremely rare in the north.
Vigneti del Vulture are based on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture in Basilicata, traditionally one of the last areas of Italy to harvest and ideally suited to late ripening grape varieties like Greco and Fiano, which are found in this example. Full of peach and citrus fruit, with some hints of white flowers, this is a brilliant, easy drinking style of wine.
